Happy Birthday Ocho!

"Choose to be happy,"
Said Grandma and so you did.
Your smile blesses us.

  1. I don't like to comment on my own pieces but this post deserves an explanation. It's my sister's birthday and she asked for a haiku that would make her happy.

She is the reason that I even have posted some of these on my blog, so you can either thank her or blame her. But she is my sounding board on these types of posts. I will run them by her to see if they are blog-worthy or not.

I did my first one on my own. She gave me a 4/4 which meant a lot because she is a college English professor. Then she challenged me to do four more.

As I thought tonight about what I could write that would make my sister happy, I realized that one of the things that I love about her is that she makes me happy and everyone else around her.

She is so beautiful and poised. And she lives in a house that holds a million happy memories for me and my family. This bit of doggerel from one of those memories.

Happy Birthday Ocho! I hope you had a great day!

    and

Happy Thanks giving to you and all you love.

We dont celebrate it here in Oz ... we sort of save it up for Christmas and New Year which is huge (well in our house it is) and we give thanks then.
Thanks always for your kind comments.
